The year of “uncle”.

Has anyone else ever had a year like that? The kind of year where you feel like you keep getting on your knees and one of your most frequent sayings to the Lord is, “uncle!” This saying ages me but back in the day on the playground kids would twist your wrists until it hurt so much that you would say, “uncle”. That was their signal to stop. It meant you had reached your breaking point. Any further and you may end up with a physical injury. You get the idea. There are days, seasons and even years where it just feels like you cannot endure one more disappointment, one more injury, one more bad medical report or you might actually break. Limits aren’t all bad though. Our limits bring us to the point of complete dependence. Where our strength and energy end and a power so much greater than us begins and goes to infinity. There is no limit to this kind of power and strength. All we have to do is learn to tap into it and fully depend. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. “Uncle” might just be the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.
