Live like a Toddler.

Have you ever noticed how much passion two-year olds carry in their little bodies? Whether they are happy about something or sad, they fully experience it. My grand daughter wears her heart on her sleeve. She does the best inverted smile/frown I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t sure a face could even do that! If I ever show up with a coffee in my hand that looks like it came from a coffee stand, I had better be bringing a protein ball with it or the frown is coming out! Or when my grandson knows he’s done something to get himself into trouble - like not sharing with his cousin, he covers his face with both hands, not caring in the slightest how anyone else in the room might perceive his actions, (sometimes I feel like hiding my face too).

I love whenever my grand daughter completes a task- like building her lego tower, and whether I’ve helped or not she yells, “we did it!” They’re so inclusive! We can learn so much from them. Whatever they do, they do it fully and without a care in the world if someone approves of their action, word or expression. They just assume they’re cute and adorable and assume everyone else thinks so too.

I’ve noticed that you cannot talk them into much. If they don’t want the dang dinner, good luck getting them to eat it. If they want the dodee dah due dee (macaroni and cheese), then that’s the only thing they are going to eat in that moment…trust me.

When did we learn to care so much about what everyone else thinks about what we want to do or how we say something? Maybe we can just assume others love us, and think we’re adorable and do as we please too! Just maybe, we can fully embrace life and live with passion like they do!
