Jesus himself prayed for you

I’ve been reflecting lately about how precious it is that my mom and dad pray for me and all my immediate family. They have done this for as long as I can remember. There is a sense of peace that comes along with knowing that someone out there has your back and is praying to God on your behalf. It gives you a sense of confidence while walking through all the uncertainties we face in life. Today I read in John chapter 17 where Jesus prayed out loud to God, hands open, raised to the sky on behalf of his disciples. I’ve read this chapter before but never before did I notice the second half of his prayer and today it hit me differently. John 17:20-25 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for all those who will ever believe and trust in me through their message, that they all may be one; just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be one is us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. I have given to them the glory and honor which you have given me, that they may be one, just as we are one; I in them and you in me, that they may be perfected and completed into one, so that the world may know that you sent me, and that you have loved them, just as you have loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given to me as your gift to me may be with me where I am, so that they may see my glory which you have given me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.“ It is incredible to me that way back then, Jesus was thinking of me and praying for me! I don’t know about you, but that gives me confidence! Someone out there has my back. Not just anyone, but the Son of God, Jesus himself! So keep your chin up when things get tough! When you see crazy things happening all around you, remember that someone out there, no not just someone, but your mighty Savior prayed a mighty, faith filled prayer on your behalf. His prayers are heard, his prayers are perfect and he has your back!
